Leather Journal Cover Workshop | Sunday September 27
Workshop Date & Time: Sunday September 27th, 2026 4pm-6:30pm
Location: Meet at Hook and Hide 1136 Nuuanu Ave Honolulu, HI 96817
Craft a leather journal that’s designed and personalized by you from start to finish.
How it works:
- Choose your materials. On the day of the workshop, you will select your journal base, including the leather cover color, pocket color, thread color, grommets, and cord colors.
- Learn saddle stitching. Once you’ve chosen your materials, we’ll start by saddle stitching the leather pocket onto your journal cover. You’ll learn and practice this traditional leather working technique while creating your journal.
- Make it your own. We’ll spend the remainder of the workshop customizing your journal! Choose from leather paints, stamping, charms, and other adornments to create an heirloom piece that reflects you.
What to know:
- This is a beginner/intermediate workshop. You will not be required to have any leather craft skills.
- We will craft your journal notebook cover from premium Full-Grain Vegetable Tanned Italian Leather, the same leather we use to make many of our other Hook and Hide products.
What you'll need:
- Please wear covered shoes as you will be in a working leather shop. Tools required in this class are minimal but sharp tools and heavy machinery/equipment are at arms length. We ask you kindly to be mindful while moving about the room. Things may drop and move so please watch your step.
- The workshop may get warm at times, please wear appropriate clothing.
